I have another blog which is named after a book I've written called Death By Civilisation. On it, I've just posted an article (here) about why we shouldn't be surprised about why dads are often incompetents or useless in sitcoms, and mentioning The Royle Family, 2.4 children, The Good Life, Ever Decreasing Circles, One Foot in the Grave and Modern Family along the way.
