Big fan of your blog. I have a question...Hi James,

Big fan of your blog. I have a question for your good self. I'm co-writing a sitcom with a story that arcs throughout the series. We've plotted series 1 in great detail and have fairly clear ideas of where series 2 and 3 will go. The problem we have is deciding which ep in series 1 to write and send in as our spec script.

I've generally been told never to send in ep 1 as this is the pilot/setup episode and ep 3 is usually recommended (out of 6). But what about a series that has a changing story all the time? In our case, ep 1 is when something big happens to the protag but the end of ep 3 is when everyone has to deal with it and it's the dealing with it that drives the rest of the sitcom. Ep 4 is set in a location we don't use again so I don't know how representative it will be of the sitcom.

Can you give us any advice? Many thanks.Anton Russellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17603485242385915643noreply@blogger.com
